The Royal Parks in World War l

Sunday 17th & 24th September

There is going to be a World War One project running on Buck Hill in Kensington Gardens on the 17th and 24th September between 11am and 4pm.

Sunday 17th September – Camouflage School Public Open Day: Come along to the Camouflage School and find out how Kensington Gardens was used in WW1 to experiment with new ways of misleading the enemy.

Sunday 24th September – Come and experience Kensington Gardens as it was a century ago.

More details can be found by accessing the website Royal Parks website

On Sunday 24th, there will also be the Harvest Festival running all day in the allotment behind the Kensington Garden offices (it is just behind the Magazine resto at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery.) This year the volunteers there have planted examples of lots of veg and plants which would have kept the country going during WW1. There is also, in this allotment, a happy band of chickens!
